My Turn... Light Tackle Sharkin

Since Im usually pullin double duty on the chum grinder and camera, its rare that I ever get to see how goofy I look on film. This trip we had the pleasure of havin JoJo on the deck, half hungover and the other half asleep he did a hell of a job pointing the GoPro in the right direction. Thanks JoJo you captured my rugged handsomeness perfectly.
Special thanks to Tica Rods for building the best stick for light tackle big game!

The Bite is hot....

JJ and Big John took the day and headed out past the breakers in search of dinner. After seeing these pictures I'm a bit salty I opted to stay on land this day. It didn't help that JJ texted me updates throughout the day adding to my jealousy, but hey I gotta let other people get on the fish sometimes ;)

42nd Annual Montauk Marine Basin wrap up report

We're back from Montauk and somewhat recouped from such an outstanding weekend.
The Crew at Montauk Marine Basin really know how to roll out the red carpet, and put on one hell of a tournament.
We had a great time, the turn out was impressive, and plenty of anglers went home with full pockets.
Congrats to the big Winners:
"The Siren" with a 448lbs Thresher taking the overall win and Largest Thresher
"Oh Brother" with a 406lbs Thresher to follow 2nd in the Thresher group
"3rd Wish" with a 201lbs Mako to take home the 1st 2nd and 3rd in the Mako Group.

We would like to express our deepest thanks to Montauk Marine Basin: Carl, Courtney, and Chase Darenberg as well as all the staff and crew who worked tirelessly to accommodate the masses of anglers, spectators and ourselves. Montauk Marine Basin exemplifies what hard work and dedication to the sport of fishing is all about, and it shows in everything they do. We are truly honored to have been part of such an amazing event and designing this years Tournament apparel was a great honor, one in which we hope to be a part of again.
If you missed the tournament this year...kick yourself hard, and remind yourself not to miss next year!

Cheers
-Marco

Montauk Marine Basin Tag Tournament.

The tournament is into its second day with some great fish being taken. First of the day was "The Siren" 448lb Thresher, Followed by 406lb Thresher taken by "Oh Brother"
Day 2 started with "3rd Wish" with the first Mako of the Tournament weighing in at a healthy 201lbs. Followed by "The Bluefin" pulling a 213lb Thresher.
Hats off to the tagging officials who have been putting in a full day under the sun, tagging, weighing and examining each fish for research. All in all this has been a stellar tournament thus far... Stay Tuned

Well Here goes.....

Were all packed, and the camper's cleaned up. Headed to the Montauk Marine Basin Tournament.
As we announced a few weeks ago, we designed the apparel for this years tournament. Still can't believe we, as such a small company got the privilege to be part of one the largest Shark Tournaments around. Couldn't be happier to work with such great people.
We'll be there all 3 days with a booth set up so if you have no plans for the weekend, shoot out to Montauk and come hang out. We spent all month wrapping up the huge assortment of give aways, and we'll be seling all the new Scrimshaw Co gear as well. Be sure to grab a Marine Basin Tournament shirt too. We designed them, so we may be a little biased....but they are pretty awesome!!!!
